Volunteering At Windsor Park

What Does Volunteering Involve?

Every volunteer opportunity will look slightly different, however most are flexible in terms of the frequency that you would serve. Every team will have a roster system where you will be rostered on to volunteer, this can range from a weekly, fortnightly, monthly or as required basis. While most of our volunteer opportunities fall on Sundays, we have several opportunities to use your gifts & talents to serve our community throughout the week as well.

Some of our volunteer opportunities will require police vetting (when volunteering in an area with anyone under 18 such as our NextGen ministry).

We encourage you to get in touch, let us know what area you’d like to volunteer in, or what skills & talents you have, and we’ll pop you in touch with the relevant Team Leader who can send you further details on the expectations around volunteering within that ministry.

What Experience Do I Need?

For most of our volunteer opportunities no experience is required! We’re happy to train you as we go, teaching you the ropes and guiding you in. For some areas you may need a specific skill or talent in order to serve within that ministry – i.e., the Worship team.

What Area(s) Can I Volunteer In?

We have a wide range of areas that you can volunteer in. See some of the areas below:

  • Worship Team (Musicians, Vocalists)
  • Tech Team (Projectionists, Sound Engineers, Lighting)
  • Photography/Videography Team
  • Care Team (Prayer, Compassionate Catering, Food Bank, Kiwi Harvest)
  • Engage Team (Welcoming People, Info Desk Coordinator, Reset)
  • NextGen Team (Pre-School, Primary, Intermediate & High School Leaders & Volunteers)
  • Cafe Team (Baristas, Waiters, Front of House)
  • Life & Interest Groups Team (Running/Facilitating a Life Group or Interest Group)
  • Other (Gardens, Property Support, Events, Adhoc Help Required)
If you’re looking to serve in an area not listed above, simply reach out, let us know, and we can work together to make it happen if appropriate!
How Do I Know What My Gifts & Talents Are?

Finding it difficult to know what your gifts and talents are? It may just lie within your answer to the following questions:

  • What brings you joy?
  • What are your hobbies?
  • How do you show love to other people?
  • What are your secret skills?
Now consider those answers and think about how you could apply them to serving our community.
For example, if you love cooking and showing people love through meals, you’d make a great addition to our Compassionate Catering Team, who cook up meals for families in need. Or if you enjoy working on computers and you know your way around technology, our Projectionist Team would be a great fit for you! If you didn’t find your answer through those questions, get in touch with our Team here about our Discover Your Design course. Taking place on Sundays throughout the year, this course is designed to help you understand your wiring, working out your special gifts and talents, and learning where/how you could apply them to serve His Kingdom.
